White Gingerbread
Hope Patterson enters the foster care system at the tender age of seven. After six years of being moved from place to place, unloved and abused, she arrives at the home of a sweet, gray-haired caregiver. Now, Hope finally has someone who earnestly wants to help her navigate the path from a scarred past to a bright future.
Along this path, a few unlikely people find their way into Hope’s heart, including a beautiful bi-racial girl who is struggling to survive the loss of her mother and the turmoil of the sixties.
This story is a reminder that the framework of a family doesn’t always have to fit into the perfect mold.
